Crop top & Culottes

Top - ASOS ♦ Culottes - Missguided ♦ Trainers - Ego ♦ Necklace - Claire's ♦ Gold ring - a gift ♦ Silver ring - Pandora
I feel as if we have been so lucky this year with the sun. No one can complain about the 'typical British Summer' this time around as the nation has been blessed with gorgeously scorching sun and I for one am loving it! My only issue with hot weather is this most of the fashion requires me to perform a task that I dread and hate with a passion - shaving (or shudder - waxing) my legs. This is precisely why I'm loving the comeback of culottes as those flowy uber cool trousers allow my third day pins to go unnoticed.

On top of this incredibly useful perk, they transform an outfit into a put together, androgynous ensemble. These classic black ones can be worn quirky and casual with trainers like mine and dressed up for work or evening with heels. So far I have three pairs of those kooky trousers and I'm certain my collection will continue to grow. I hope these never go out of style but even if they do, I'm pretty sure I'll still be rocking them!

Smart trousers & cropped shirt

Shirt - Missguided ♦ Trousers - Dorothy Perkins ♦ Shoes - Peacocks ♦ Necklace - Charity shop ♦
Thumb ring - Claires ♦ Rose ring - Pandora ♦ Gold ring - a gift

It's not often I go somewhere posh enough to dress up and act hopefully sophisticated, but Wednesday night was the evening of my friend's art exhibition. It was a lovely night; although admittedly I was quite late and ended up getting lost on the way to the venue. Seriously, am I the only one who struggles with the map thing on the iPhone when asking for walking directions? I always seem to end up off the blue line and somewhere random.

I'm sorry these photos aren't up to the usual standard - had a bit of an issue with the camera and resorted to using my phone. While we're on the subject, does anyone have any tips for taking blog photos on the iPhone? Although they are basically good quality photos, they don't quite meet my standards when it comes to blogging, am I doing something wrong?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Let's go Disco

Shirt - Missguided Jeans - Topshop Shoes - Monki ♦ Ring - Pandora ♦ Lips - Smitten, Accessorize

Getting these shoes in the sale was one of the best decisions I've made recently. I wasn't sure how they'd look but at a mere £18, I couldn't pass it up. I'm so glad I picked them up, they are my new favourites! I don't think they are to everyone's taste, they're a little 70's disco, but I think  they add a much-needed edge to a simple outfit like this one.

Speaking of clothing I love, these jeans are the absolute perfect fit. They are from Topshop and were supposed to be ankle-grazing but because I'm such a short-arse, they come up as normal length. I had a disastrous incident where I accidentally tore the pocket and although I wasn't able to get it fixed perfectly, I hope think the frayed look matches the tear in the knee. I do however wish I'd thought to iron my shirt, I didn't realise how offensive the creases would look on camera. The terrible truth is I avoid ironing at all costs.

Anyone else as bad as me?

Little Lilac Dress

Gold chain - my Grandma's ♦ Heart necklace - a gift ♦ Heart & Amethyst necklace - By Francis Frank

Rose quartz - a giftEye bracelet - holidayEmerald ring - a gift Charm bracelet - Pandora Black beads - holiday Rose & heart ring - Pandora

Dress - Missguided ♦ Shoes - Primark ♦ Bow (in hair) - Rowfers ♦ Glasses - Replay ♦ Camera -  Fujifilm Instax 8
I love everything about this dress, the subtle colour, the length, the shape - it's just perfect for Summer. Despite the fact Jack thought it resembled a chef's whites (he doesn't understand my fashion choices), I feel so sophisticated in this minimalistic dress, I kind of feel like it's an less expensive version of something Louise from Made in Chelsea might wear. I've been trying to inject colour into my wardrobe, black and white can only get you so far. This little Missguided number is such a delicate shade of lilac and not in your face at all, so colour-phobes can easily be converted to the light side!

The weather is amazing at the moment and I just really hope it sticks around. In regular English weather, outfit shooting is such a chore; I usually rush outside and run through it as quickly as in can. But with the lovely sun, I'm enjoying posing by my pond, which I think makes a really interesting and pretty background, what do you reckon?

Enjoy the weather while it lasts
