Bonfire Night Nails ✴

Saffron London in Colour 10 Sure Promise nail stripers Rimmel London Nail Treat top & base coat

Chipped polish, sorry!

This nail look is inspired by carnivals and fireworks. I'm going to be wearing this design for bonfire night and firework displays this November. You can do this easy design on all of your nails but I think it makes the most impact when it's just on the thumb. What will you being doing on the 5th of November?

My week

Despite the fact all my uni deadlines are coming up fast, I've been out twice this week. Unfortunately I didn't get an OOTN done for either night, sorry guys, but I was running late on both evenings! Instead I have a little week in pictures thingy-ma-bob. Well, I haven't done one in a while

♦ Strawberry lace cocktail with Nat & Rachel ♦ Laura & I ♦ Snarling ♦ Sophie & I ♦ Cartoon nails ♦ Natalie & I ♦ I was red ♦

These days, I don't go out as much as I used to and well, it makes me feel like a bit of a Grandma.  That's why this week has been a welcome break from the worry of deadlines. Wednesday was my gal pal Vikki's birthday, so we came out for surprise drinks and had a splendid time. Had to be in uni the next day but we're hardcore like that, obviously.
Saturday night started off great but the remainder of the evening could have gone smoother - the taxi could have turned up on time and the second club could have been less dead and less infested with under-agers, but never mind. Luckily I was in good company, which made the night. The important thing is I broke in my new lace top and my Missguided lime skater skirt, which you can see and purchase here

As you can see, I've been suffering for my best buddy's art yet again. I must confess I'm a fan of the wig, but that red paint is a bitch to get off, trust. I'm sure Alex will display the wonderful pictures on her blog at some point and you can check that out here

Do you like my cartoon nails? I was inspired by Cutepolish's recent tutorial, I think she's amazing. However I'm kind of hoping you don't watch the video, as her work makes my attempt look like crap. In my defence  they got a little messed up after a weekend of cafe work. Give them ago, they're super easy!

So that's my week. I'm off to get a cup of tea and go ham on my stupid assignment.
Not long now, Alice. Not long now...

Valentine Kitty Nails ♥

Although I really like all the love heart and kisses nail art I've seen so far this month, I decided to do something a bit different with my nails for Valentines. Not only do these kitty Valentine's nails look super cute, it also was the perfect opportunity to finally use my Christmas fimo slices. It's also really easy and quick to do, honest!

How to:
♦ Take white and pink polishes and paint your nails, alternating the colours
♦ Use a dotting tool to create polka dots on the white nails
♦ Taking a white striper, carefully create a heart on your pink nails. Use a dotting tool make four dots above them
♦ Paint a French tip on your thumbs, and carefully add the fimo while wet
♦ Finish with a topcoat and it's done!

It's a little bit different, but I like it. Whether you're loved up or a single pringle, I think this design is a really cute look for Valentines Day, or any time of the year! What do you think?

CHRISTMAS! ❄

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas, I certainly have.

We weren't able to fit all the presents under the tree, and even then, we still had even more to put under! We were all completely spoiled - everyone bought really thoughtful lovely presents. I want to show you a few  gifts that my amazing family and friends gave me.

A few of  my Pressies!

My best friend Alex bestowed the gift of a wonderful bag of goodies upon me. Let's take a look inside...

She knows me so well. I'm obsessed with all things nail-y. How cute are these? My favourite is the little cats! I've always wanted to get some for my nails and I can't wait to pair them up with a design.

These pens are more efficient then stripers, as they won't blotch as much. One is a fine liner pen and the other is a polish pen in a chrome-like grey colour. She also gave me a new black polish and awesome neon green.

Check out this unusual eyeliner. I've never seen one like this before, when I first opened it I thought it was a pointy lipstick :') I look forward to using this, less messy than a liquid and less painful than a pencil. Perfect.

Nail foils! Look at the cute candy cane ones, so appropriate for Christmas. I seriously love the harlequin ones , they even match the gift bag.

Ohmigosh, look at all those colours! I love these little pots; the pigments are really strong and vibrant. My favourite colour is the aqua green, but I'm also really liking the look of that shimmery bronze. Stay tuned!

The trend I've been longing to try - the caviar manicure! No, not literal fish eggs, but pretty pearly ball bearings that stick onto your nail polish to create a cool textured look.

And lastly, some lovely earrings. I love the delicate silver dream-catchers and the bright doughnuts will be perfect when I'm feeling more playful ;3

Next present ...

How cute is this gorgeous bag? My sister Rosie picked this for me, in my favourite colour! It's supposed to be an owl, but I think the little button looks a bit like a nose, which makes him reminiscent of a little bush-baby or squirrel :3 I love it so much, I actually can't wait to use it!

Next up ...

Here's the charm in it's box
You jelly? Here are my beautiful Vivienne Westwood earrings from my boyfriend Jack. Total shock! I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. He also hid my lovely new Pandora charm inside a Kinder Surprise egg, very creative, don't you think?

Also...

Jack's nan also bought me a Westwood gift, Naughty Alice perfume. I've been wanting this for ages  and  it smells gorgeous. I love the cute charm it comes with.

And finally ...

I finally have a sewing machine of my own! I'd been using my Nanny's old Singer up until now, which is beautiful and I love, but quite old and difficult to master. Now I'll be able to run up some mad creation with no trouble at all. Look forward to seeing what divine (ahem) things I come up with.

Christmas cats
So those are a few of my many pressies. I love my wonderful family and friends, I think it's safe to say this has been one of my best Christmases yet. I'll be off to spend my Christmas money soon as the sales are here My veggie Crimbo din dins was spot on; I ate so much and had another huge dinner on boxing day.
It's likely I won't be fitting any of my clothes ;D

What did you guys get?
Enjoy the rest of the Christmas season ..

Pink & White Candy Cane Nails

Hello bubalas!

Haven't posted for a bit, I've had a mental couple of weeks, and I'm setting sail for another one tomorrow. Phew, uni is incredibly tiring. I'm excited to interview the head of events and entertainment in the city Wednesday, but of course I'm very nervous, so wish me luck :)

I'm in the process of writing a post on my 'unwearable' shirt, so look out for that within the next week or so. Like I say, there's rather a lot going on. On top of all my work, it's Jack's birthday on Tuesday, so I've had to get myself organised for that. Perhaps soon I'll get some sleep :')

Hope you like the nails, they are kind of like my candy cane/rock summer nails but I've opted for the more traditional pink and white. Cute, no? I'm thinking about doing a Christmas version, red white, green and gold maybe? Hmm ...

Hope you have a stupendous week

Glamorous Neon Leopard Nails

I know a lot of my recent posts have been heavily nail related, but I can't help myself! I love Cutepolish nail designs, so tried out her glamorous leopard print tutorial. It's pretty easy to do as long as you take your time
 ☺
If you don't own dotting tools, just use the end of a bobby pin. I got mine from eBay and I didn't pay much so it's worth having a look I also got my striper polishes from there too -  hurray for eBay ;3

Here's the tutorial ...

This girl is a genius and was the first Youtuber to really inspire me to start doing nail art :)
Check out her other videos ♣

Nailed it.

Trawling through my old Twitpics, I came across these old nail designs from last year I'd forgotten all about, so I decided to share my favourites with you. Hope you like them! :)

My favourite ones

Random patterns

Pokémon!!

Pandas :3

So yeah, not really a detailed post, but I thought you might like to see these. Let me know which one is your favourite design :)) Arrivederci ... ♣

Newspaper Nails

Ahoy there - how you like my nails? I've seen the newspaper trend on Youtube a lot and finally succeeded at creating my own :)

A lot of the tutorials say you need to use rubbing alcohol to dip your paper in and press onto nails. Well, all I had was a bottle of vodka and as it turned out, it's much better for drinking than nail art. So in the end I used room temp water and they turned out okay, a little messy but with a little time (and no rushing) they can look really cool.

This is the tutorial I followed

So even if you're not so good at nail art, this is easy enough for anyone and everyone to do and looks really cute, so try it out ♣

Sport Luxe Nails

I've not really jumped aboard the sports luxe trend this season, I'm probably the least active person you'll ever meet, so sportsy wear isn't really my thing. However, I thought I'd bite the bullet and try out sport-inspired nails.

Slightly chipped, soz

The sports luxe trend is all about sharp lines mixed with neutral and neon colours. I used a marl grey-ish colour with bright pink tips, as I thought it looked a bit like a bit like the colours you'd find in a gym-kit, yano, grey joggers with pinky details and accesories like sweatbands. I stripped them diagonally.  I also added an orange colour to the thumb, not sure why, but I like it ;3

No need to tell you guys how I did this one, it's pretty much as simple as it looks :) I've been a bit boring and lazy with my nails recently, so I'll try and come up with something a bit more complicated for you guys.

Until then, hope you like this simple yet pretty cool sports inspired nail design

Rhubarb & Custard Nails

I didn't actually base these nails on rhubarb and custard sweets, it was Jack who made the comparsion so I thought it would be a good idea to blog about them. These are so simple to do and look really pretty :) Here's how to do it ..

♦ Paint your whole nail yellow ♦ Take a pink polish and stroke it along the end diagonally ♦ Get a glittery striper polish (or toothpick if you don't have one) and line the partition between the colours   ♦ Finish with a top coat and you're done!

And it's as simple as that. I did my other hand blue and yellow so I guess these can be blueberry and custard sweets. Do they even have them? They should have them.

Rhubarb and custards are one of my favourite boiled sweets, I really fancy some right now.
Hope you guys like sweetie my nail art :)

Candy Cane Nails

Decided to vamp my nails up again, and as it's nearly Summer, (although you wouldn't tell by the weather) I did a candy cane design. My mom bought me some tutti fruity rock the other day as well, so it kinda inspired the design :) Gold glitter like the sandy beaches :3

Also did these random nail designs before a night out the other day... just for fun like :')

What do you think of my nails? :)

Cute Polish Zebra Nails

Just a quick post, been kinda busy this week but I plan to do a 'today's look' post tomorrow so stay tuned :)
My nails had started to chip, so I decided to try one of my favourite designs, this striped zebra look by Cute Polish, a Youtube nail polish guru who comes up with amazing and creative designs.

As you can see, I haven't yet cleaned them up and they aren't my neatest attempt, but I just wanted to share my lavender and gold take on the original design. Please check out the tutorial here, with a little practise, it's very easy and looks awesome ;D

I wanna have Sex on The Beach ;D

Who doesn't love a refreshing cocktail? Whether it's during lunch with the girls or on a mad night out, I can always be in the mood for a fruity drink.
I decided to base this nail design on one of my favourite cocktails, Sex on the beach. Orange in colour, this cocktail is fruity and sweet and oozes glitz and naughtiness.
Luckily, I had the perfect shade for this design - a blood orange colour by Barry M.  I always find the pigments of Barry M polishes are good quality so I only used one coat. Next, to represent the glamour and excitement of the beverage, I stroked a couple of coats of W7 glitter polish in silver in a diagonal motion across my tips. A stripe of yellow adds interest and keeps the design true to the colours in the cocktail To finish, I completed the look with clear glitter polish from a Technic nail collection and a top coat to add shine.
Orange is actually the one colour I don't really care for, but when I received this polish in a Barry M goodie bag (from the Clothes Show Live 2011) I just loved the rich block shade. Apologies for blurriness, it was a little dark in my room .. :)
