Rudy says Hello!

Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamed of having a dog. A playful little puppy to go on adventures and cuddle up on the sofa with. I must admit, I'm always going to be a crazy cat girl with a beautiful little cat family, but when my boyfriend announced he wanted a dog I couldn't have been happier.

Please welcome little Rudy!

Rudy is a ten-week-old English Springer Spaniel and is just about the cutest little thing ever. Although he is very young, he's already learned to go potty outside (with just a few accidents when he isn't quite quick enough) and how to sit.  He has a love-heart marking on his back and was the only one of the litter to have such a beautiful chocolate colouring to him. Expect to see a lot more of his precious little face!

Hope you enjoyed meeting him ♣

Disney Princess Engagement Rings

I'm not looking to tie the knot yet but after spying these beauties, I could be convinced sooner than expected! (just kidding, Jack). Every girl wants to feel like a princess, so what better time than when she's proposed to? Check out these elegant Disney engagement rings; each inspired by a different classic princess.

I love the little details - from the tiny shells on Ariel's ring to the gorgeous rose on Belle's. It is so hard to pick a favourite; I think it's between Cinderella's, Belle's and Aurora's. Unfortunately, this is the only picture released so far, I'd love to see them from the front. No news yet on when or where the rings will be sold but I really can't wait to see them in person, even if it is to just stare and not wear!

Are you enchanted by these stunning rings? Would you ever have a Disney engagement ring and of course, which is your favourite?

Sun, Threads & Pale Legs

Hi all! It was such a sunny day that my impossibly pale skin has made me look like a complete ghost! I'm sorry about the serious brightness of these pictures; I tried to change the settings on my camera but it just couldn't handle the heat. I shall have to pick out a new one soon. I'm quite annoyed that some of the photographs have a little too much glare; I can't get over how white my legs look. I swear I'm not as pasty as this in real life, I promise you!

I'm afraid this is yet another post where my face is looking less than happy, hey, it's not my fault that the sun makes me squinty! Speaking of which, how insane is this British Summer? I am loving every moment of it. In fact, I'm shocked at the amount of people complaining about heat. Okay, its pretty hot, but would you really prefer a drizzly grey July? Exactly.

By the way, I have really exciting news - we're getting a puppy! Well, Jack has been thinking of getting a dog for some time; his Springer Spaniel Taz passed away about a year or two ago and ever since then, being such a dog person, he has been longing to have another happy little friend about the house. We've chosen the sweetest little Springer puppy ever and he'll be ready to come home next week, so look out for posts full of overdoes of cuteness!  ♥

Anyway, enjoy the sun while we have it, Brits.

Leopard Legs

Moody face

I'm back with an OOTD, finally!
These photos are actually from a few weeks back when it wasn't quite as warm but I'd completely forgotten about them until today. I realise how long it's been since I've written a proper outfit post so I thought I'd share this one with you guys. Don't I look moody? I wasn't, I promise. In fact, I was just on my way to meet my best friend in town for a spot of shopping so I was pretty pumped for a busy day.

How do you like my tights? My sister's friend gave them to me, apparently she hadn't even worn them once! I guess they aren't for everyone, but I think heavily patterned tights can really brighten up a plain outfit. Plus, I've always been a sucker for animal prints.

I have another very summery outfit post coming up very soon; look out for my milky white legs!

Lipstick Addict

I cannot stop buying lipsticks! I used to have a pretty frugal collection, but it has grown at a crazy rate in the last few months. These are my latest picks, which is your favourite?

1) Rimmel in Nude Delight
Because my lips are naturally highly pigmented it's for difficult for me to find the perfect nude nude (any tips would be greatly appreciated) and unfortunately I didn't really get much closer with this. However, that's not to say I don't love this shade; it comes up a beautiful pale orange which is really pretty and natural-looking. It's ideal for work and casual days out.

2) Kate for Rimmel in Vibrant Coral
Exactly what it says on the tin. Comes up rather red on my lips but still unmistakably coral, in fact, it's the best I've found to date. If you want a deep coral shade I highly reccommend this lipstick, it's matt and has terrific staying power.

3) Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade
I've become addicted to these little lovely. I can't resist a light pink lippie and this is just adorable. Despite it's pale colour, I was surprised at how vibrant it is on my lips, shiny but bright. Admittedly, it doesn't have the best staying power, but it's easy enough to reapply after a drink or meal.

4) W7 Go West  in Pink Cloud
This colour I could not resist - isn't it just lovely? It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a pink lippie and I've been searching for this shade my whole life. It has a creamy texture with a buildable colour. What's more, it last great for a few hours but of course will need a top up after eating or drinking.

I watched ... THE PURGE

If you lived in a world where any crime was legal for just one night, what would you do? Would you hole up in your home and try to stay safe until morning, or use it as a chance to release your carnal animal instincts? That's the premise of James DeMonaco's thriller The Purge (rated 15 in the UK), in which a family find themselves in serious danger when they let a stranger in need into their home.

The Lowdown
For those of you expecting a serious scare, you may be disappointed. In my opinion, the advert (and movie poster) sells a film that this, well, just isn't. It's full of suspense, tension and it's pretty violent, but it's not exactly scary. I am a huge wimp when it comes to films and I can say with some confidence this won't be keeping me awake at night. However, I can guarantee it will spark a lively debate between you and your friends after watching, it gives you a lot to think about. I personally like these kind of films but if you want a slasher horror flick, it's not likely to deliver.

Considering twists are one of the most important aspects of a good thriller, I found this film a tad predictable. Having said that, it has quite a few small twists throughout which I think keeps the audience on their toes.  I thought the actors were all rather good, I didn't spy a wooden one amongst them, which can really ruin a good film (looking at you, Mr Radcliffe). My favourite character was the 'Polite Stranger', played by Rhys Wakefield. He was without a doubt the best of the bunch. Is it strange I found him weirdly attractive? Must have been the charm.

The Bottom Line
The Purge is worth a watch if you want a thriller that's more tense and interesting than scary. You might guess the twists before they happen, but it doesn't really take anything away from the story. I found it a bit unsatisfying as nothing was able to surprise me, but that's not to say everyone will see what's coming.   Although I enjoyed it, I can't say that it completely lived up to my expectations. Even so, I'd recommend it for a late night cinema trip, it's a pretty good film and makes for an thoughtful discussion on the drive home.
