CHRISTMAS! ❄

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas, I certainly have.

We weren't able to fit all the presents under the tree, and even then, we still had even more to put under! We were all completely spoiled - everyone bought really thoughtful lovely presents. I want to show you a few  gifts that my amazing family and friends gave me.

A few of  my Pressies!

My best friend Alex bestowed the gift of a wonderful bag of goodies upon me. Let's take a look inside...

She knows me so well. I'm obsessed with all things nail-y. How cute are these? My favourite is the little cats! I've always wanted to get some for my nails and I can't wait to pair them up with a design.

These pens are more efficient then stripers, as they won't blotch as much. One is a fine liner pen and the other is a polish pen in a chrome-like grey colour. She also gave me a new black polish and awesome neon green.

Check out this unusual eyeliner. I've never seen one like this before, when I first opened it I thought it was a pointy lipstick :') I look forward to using this, less messy than a liquid and less painful than a pencil. Perfect.

Nail foils! Look at the cute candy cane ones, so appropriate for Christmas. I seriously love the harlequin ones , they even match the gift bag.

Ohmigosh, look at all those colours! I love these little pots; the pigments are really strong and vibrant. My favourite colour is the aqua green, but I'm also really liking the look of that shimmery bronze. Stay tuned!

The trend I've been longing to try - the caviar manicure! No, not literal fish eggs, but pretty pearly ball bearings that stick onto your nail polish to create a cool textured look.

And lastly, some lovely earrings. I love the delicate silver dream-catchers and the bright doughnuts will be perfect when I'm feeling more playful ;3

Next present ...

How cute is this gorgeous bag? My sister Rosie picked this for me, in my favourite colour! It's supposed to be an owl, but I think the little button looks a bit like a nose, which makes him reminiscent of a little bush-baby or squirrel :3 I love it so much, I actually can't wait to use it!

Next up ...

Here's the charm in it's box
You jelly? Here are my beautiful Vivienne Westwood earrings from my boyfriend Jack. Total shock! I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. He also hid my lovely new Pandora charm inside a Kinder Surprise egg, very creative, don't you think?

Also...

Jack's nan also bought me a Westwood gift, Naughty Alice perfume. I've been wanting this for ages  and  it smells gorgeous. I love the cute charm it comes with.

And finally ...

I finally have a sewing machine of my own! I'd been using my Nanny's old Singer up until now, which is beautiful and I love, but quite old and difficult to master. Now I'll be able to run up some mad creation with no trouble at all. Look forward to seeing what divine (ahem) things I come up with.

Christmas cats
So those are a few of my many pressies. I love my wonderful family and friends, I think it's safe to say this has been one of my best Christmases yet. I'll be off to spend my Christmas money soon as the sales are here My veggie Crimbo din dins was spot on; I ate so much and had another huge dinner on boxing day.
It's likely I won't be fitting any of my clothes ;D

What did you guys get?
Enjoy the rest of the Christmas season ..

Big Bang Alive Tour London ♥♪

BIG BANG!

Where do I begin? I've been waiting for this for years, and it was hard to believe that it was finally here. One of my very very favourite Kpop groups Big Bang came to Wembley Arena in London, and of course I was going to be in attendance.

The tickets arranged so prettily

This year has been crazy for Kpop; if it wasn't surreal enough that Psy is now an international star, imagine how it weird it felt being just metres away from the guys I thought I'd only see through a computer screen. Incredible.

There was a slight hiccup, a few songs into their set the steward who had shown us to our seats came over with two other girls and starting speaking to Alex. I assumed she'd made a mistake so ignored this, until I noticed Alex picking up her things. Apparently, the woman had made a mistake and took us to the wrong seats, ours were the other side of the arena! I was raging, as we had to run around other side of the building, missing most of Fantastic Baby in the process. Luckily, our rightful seats were in the exact same place, just the opposing side. Phew! We had a great view.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a live band,  and were gracious enough to introduce the members towards the end of the set. The encore was definitely the best I've ever seen; consisting of a total of four songs. Taeyang finished the show by singing a snippet of All I want for Christmas is you, complete with topless dancing ;)

GD & T.O.P singing Knockout

Taeyang - Wedding Dress

I love how you can hear me going 'what's he saying' in this one :')
Apologies if my squeals damaged your little ears

Seungri's attempt at the English accent was atrocious, but so cute and funny!
Here he is teaching us how to dance to Fantastic Baby. You may also notice Taeyang has a bit of tissue stuffed up his nose, that's because he got a nosebleed mid-song, the poor dear. Still carried on like a pro, looking just so professional as you can see :')

To sum up, Big Bang's concert was without a doubt the best show I've ever seen, they performed brilliantly and really interacted with us VIPs and made us never want to leave. They promised they would be back, and I seriously cannot wait for that.
You can guarantee I'll be there ..

My Christmas Jumper

Last week of the semester, and I can't wait for Christmas. It's kind of hard to get excited about it right now, what with all the deadlines and such, there's hardly any room in my brain for anything else but coursework. This is why I've decided to show my Christmas jumper. You've seen it before, but it is my all-time favourite.
My friends say I look like a shiny wrapped up present

This is my wonderful Narzipan jumper, isn't it amazing? It's my favourite colour too, definitely my best purchase of 2011. I bought it at the Clothes Show last year, and I'm gutted I couldn't make it this time around. If you went I seriously hope you checked out their stall, I've seen their latest stuff and it's just as fierce, plus they're really lovely peeps

Jacket - Peacocks, Jumper - Narzipan, Leggings - Primark, Boots - Hypnotic

Bit blurry, but you can see the beautiful detail better
Been doing a spot of cooking - it was kind of like a chilli, but it didn't have mince, or kidney beans, so it actually it wasn't like a chilli at all. I'm not sure what it was, but it tasted fine. It had sweet peppers, onion, garlic,  Quorn chicken, paprika, coriander, tomato and basil sauce and a splash of olive oil.

Domestic goddess fer sure

Okay, the rice came out a bit gloopy and sticky, and I'm really not sure why. Maybe we over boiled it? Goodness knows, but it was kind of inedible, so we just munched around it. It was quite a tasty winter meal.

Luckily, my uni work woes have been sorted this week - woohoo!
Hope you're all surviving uni/work/school, remember, it's Christmas soon! ..

Oh, by the way, Narzipan's new line will be their website soon, you must check that here

Sunday 9 December 2012

It's been a funny old week...

... if the definition of funny has suddenly changed to TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY DREADFUL. Which it hasn't. So that point is pointless.  But yeah, it's been an arse of a week.

Everything has gone wrong this semester. So you guys know my documentary ended up being filmed with no sound? We managed to re-shoot it and edit the majority of the footage this week, which is great. However, now it seems my other module is in jeopardy due to issues beyond my control, so that's not good. Don't you hate how you do everything in plenty of time and last minute things blow up in your face?

♦ Editing our documentary ♦ Spotty socks & gold headphones - chillin'  Buddy's pizza - it'd be rude not to
♦ The Christmas countdown continues! ♦ Bad posing 'n' pouting

At least I'm still getting away with paying child fare on the bus. However, I nearly had an issue the other day, when the bus pulled up at a stop and I heard that oh-so-rare and terrifying phrase: 'tickets and passes please'. Shit. I tried to look as causal as possible as I quickly flashed my ticket at the bearded inspector. For a second it seemed he was going to leave, and I'd be safe, but I saw him hesitate. Shit.
Here's how the convo went:

Him: 'How old are you?'
Me (little kid voice on): 'Fifteen..'
'When's your birthday?'
'17th of December' (he waits for the year) '..1996.'
He stares suspiciously for a second ... then he leaves. Oh my lord.
Thank god that date was right.

So at the grand age of nineteen, I'm still able to pass for fifteen, thanks to my great (not so great) maths. It probably helps that I'm shorter than most of the pre-teens and mid-teens out there.

Looking extremely calm despite the stress ;')

Hope your weeks have all been better than mine, have a good one..

Denim Appreciation

Yo
I don't look very happy in these pictures, perhaps it's because I'm still getting over my cold. It's pretty much on it's way out, just left with a pesky tickly cough I'm yet to shift. I noticed I haven't done an OOTD post in a while, so here we go

I look a bit stoned  - I wasn't.

I'm hoping my roots are long enough that they kind of look like I've got a two-tone ombre sort of effect going on, whether it does or not is a different story. As you know, I'm trying to grow my reddy brown out, so if it looks like I've done it on purpose that's a huge bonus. I've never been one to care about roots to be quite honest, even when I was a blonde I wasn't overly fussed.

I cannot tell you how much I love my two denim jackets; they are just perfect. Not really for the weather, mind, it's getting so cold and my wardrobe isn't really serving me well to be honest.
I think I shall have to hibernate...

Jacket - Sack Sale
Jumper - New Look
Shirt - River Island
Skirt - H&M
Boots - Claire's Accesories
Tights- Henry Holland
Necklace - a gift
Bracelet - Pandora

Saturday 1 December 2012

So that was November ...

... and in comes December, which means that Christmas is on its way! But first comes deadline week, beginning on the 10th. Two weeks. Oh my. As if that wasn't enough, I'm suffering from a terrible plague, or at least it feels like that. It's awful being a uni student when you're ill, as you know you have to come in and do the work, despite how rubbish you feel.

To cheer me up, I've decided to do a 'month in pictures' sorta post. It's my first one, so I hope it's okay.

♦ Hard at work ♦ Jack's sparkler ♦ Huge cocktail with strawberry laces ♦ Munching said lace ♦ What's up, doc? ♦ Nurse Jack bought me lemsips & cookies ♦ Booging at Soph's bday ♦ Yummy meal ♦ Time to put the fire on!

I'd be lying if I said it had been a great month. Of course, it was lovely Jack turning 20 and my sister 21, but most things seem to have gone hideously wrong. For example, whilst filming a documentary for uni, we had a malfunction with the camera and it ended up with no sound. Pretty stressful having to do it all again.

I haven't had a night out in what seems like forever, so I really looked forward to Sophie's birthday night at Babylon. Unfortunately the weather was crazy wet, and my big hair sank into a soggy depression. Boo. Somehow managed to get up for work at 8.30 the next day.

I've also helped Alex out for her photography, by dressing as lab doctor. Creepy, no? The project is all about animal cruelty - she's sure to blog about it at some point so it's well worth a look here

Oh yes, it's myself and Jack's Two Year Anniversary today
I remember it was a beautiful snowy day two years back... now all we have is cold winds and grey skies.
Not quite so romantic, but that doesn't really matter to me :3

Well this is what November has pretty much consisted of, it's been a (kinda) fun month but now on to the next one...

Take one unwearable shirt...

So when I brought this shirt home from the Sack Sale, Jack was less than impressed with it. He actually laughed his head off hysterically and asked, 'when are you ever going to wear that?'

Here's the wonderful garment itself...

Some love for the pig's bum coat hook?
I honestly didn't think it was that awful; in fact, I rather liked it. But perhaps it is a little 'out there' for the general majority. This is why I've decided to prove him wrong and have come up with three great outfits with the 'unwearable shirt'. Take that ;D

Outfit One
Jumper - my sister's, skirt - H&M, Boots - Primark, Headscarf - not sure, Watch - Jeremy Scott for Swatch
I've got my Ace Ventura hair going on.The thing that actually attracted me about the shirt was the interesting material, it's so bright and shiny. The main qualm I have with it is that it's a little on the large side, so I've tucked it into this skirt to mask that.

Outfit two

Tee - H&M, Jeans - Primark, Skull bracelet - Charity shop, Watch - Jeremy Scott for Swatch, bracelet- Pandora

Check out the lil socks - so chic, right? :') A more casual look now, and the oversized look of the shirt works great this time. Of course, I did tie it at the ends as it is actually ma-hoo-sive, but I think that looks okay. It makes for a nice cover-up and and extra layer in this freezing cold. I'm notoriously awful at dressing for the winter weather, so I was pretty thankful for the additional warmth.

Outfit Three

Jacket - Sack Sale, Leggings - River Island, Trainers - Pastry, Bracelet - Pandora

'What choo lookin' at?'
Me looking just a bit insane
.
I look an absolute berk on this picture. I know it's hard to believe, but it actually was the best of a bad bunch :') It's the only one where the outfit is completely visible. Bad lighting, you see.
Despite the fact the photo is a bit loco, this is my favourite look. I'm rocking the dogtooth trend this season, plus these leggings are quite thick so keep me reasonably warm, which is a bonus.
I got two denim jackets from the sack sale, and I've been wearing them so much recently. I'd been on the lookout for one for so long and two came at once, how perfect :3

So what do you think of my unwearable shirt? Did I convince you guys that it's beautiful or do you still think it's completely hideous?

Inabit guys ..♣

Pink & White Candy Cane Nails

Hello bubalas!

Haven't posted for a bit, I've had a mental couple of weeks, and I'm setting sail for another one tomorrow. Phew, uni is incredibly tiring. I'm excited to interview the head of events and entertainment in the city Wednesday, but of course I'm very nervous, so wish me luck :)

I'm in the process of writing a post on my 'unwearable' shirt, so look out for that within the next week or so. Like I say, there's rather a lot going on. On top of all my work, it's Jack's birthday on Tuesday, so I've had to get myself organised for that. Perhaps soon I'll get some sleep :')

Hope you like the nails, they are kind of like my candy cane/rock summer nails but I've opted for the more traditional pink and white. Cute, no? I'm thinking about doing a Christmas version, red white, green and gold maybe? Hmm ...

Hope you have a stupendous week

The Phantom of Camden

My friend Alex's birthday falls on Halloween, and instead of going for a night of clubbing, we decided to do something a bit different.

My other bestie Jordan is studying up in London, so we combined visiting her with a day-trip for Alex's 20th. First we went to Camden town; where we explored the weird and wonderful shops and stalls and ate doughnuts. It was freezing, but awesome.

Amazing masks , how appropriate
So cool right?

These collars were beautiful, but pricey

The weirdest yet wonderful place I've ever been

After a meal of pizza came the main attraction of the day: The Phantom of the Opera in Her majesty's Theatre. It was absolutely amazing; I'd love to see it again. All the actors had incredible voices, but the girl who played Christine really blew me away. Wow.

It was such a great day, I really must start going to the theatre more often 8) Shame I'm a broke student, eh. I'm totally obsessed with this show right now, I'd go see it again and again. I can't wait to get back into London; next time will be Big Bang's concert at Wembley. Unfortunately I won't be able to have a look round then but who cares - it's BIG BANG!

Ménage à trois ;D
Me, Jordan, Alex

Hope you had a great Halloween ..♣
